Christmas

I'm away on Christmas holiday as I hope you all are.
I'm in a cabin in a very small town in the north of Sweden, surrounded by snow. It's 12.40 AM and I can't sleep, so I might as well show you this little painting I did of my niece today. She's super cool.
Now I'm going to get some work done. Merry Christmas!

crazy beautiful

Picture's from my opening in october. Thanks Knut.

On the train back to Malmö after a few days in Stockholm and Örebro. I travel too much. This morning I was a guest on radios P4 morning talk (Örebro). This ended (I think...) two weeks of media attention because of my work with SVT:s Advent Calendar, now in stores and running on TV and at svtplay.se.
Interviews in Sydsvenskan, Nerikes Allehanda, Metro, City, Nollnitton. I haven't read or listened to half of it but I guess you can find it online...

2009 is coming to an end and so is all the big projects I've been working on this year. It's been the best year ever but I'm happy to leave it behind and get started on 2010, maybe even a couple of weeks early... 2010 is going to be the start of my new art project/book (due late 2011) and another book (2012) for an american publisher. More about that soon. Rock'n'roll.

30 and counting...

So it's been a while since my last post. I've turned 30, I've had a party and I've gotten a lot of great presents! One of the best was this amazing paper doll from my old friend Åsa Ekström. Thank you Åsa!

In other news it seems I'll be doing a book for a major American publisher, an amazing project that will take me about a year and a half to finish. More info about that when the contracts are signed. It's going to be awesome.

THINGS YOU SEE WHEN YOU CLOSE YOUR EYES - pictures

Here's pictures of all the pieces in the exhibition. A couple of them didn't turn out great. I'll try to post new ones tomorrow together with some installation pics.

If you're interested in purchasing a piece, contact the gallery at info@gallerisilfverberg.com or me directly at niklas@niklasasker.se.

And remember, the show closes November 5, so if you haven't seen it yet, get goin!

Some progress shots from one of the paintings. Things are slowly coming together. 2 days left till the big party. Hope to see y'all there!

You know you've got the right job when you actually like leaving the studio at one in the morning, then get up at 8.30 and go back to work. Crazy. But fun.

The exhibition is slowly coming together... I have 4 days and wayyy to much work left, but at least I've reached the point where it feel like it's going to work out...somehow.
